HOW ROMNEY WILL BLOW IT
Romney is a conservative. He’s no moderate. Romney doesn’t stand within five miles of moderate. But it’s almost a given that he’ll choose a ridiculously right-wing Veep to “Balance the ticket” — play against his own imaginary moderate stance on things. This will pretty much drive away any disgruntled Democrats (and there’s a whole lot of us) who will find ourselves unable to vote for such lunacy. At the same time it will fail to win him a single vote on the right.
Seriously, what fool thinks the right wing is going to stay home? I mean, after four solid years of 24x7 Faux news/talk radio coverage where Obama is (as far as right wingers go) a foreign born Muslim hell bent on turning America into a socialist state? The right wing is not staying home.
Those people are going to turn out in droves to vote against Obama…
So, moving to the right isn’t going to win Romney a single vote, but it will cost him the disgruntled Democrat vote. People like me will be voting third party, or blanking the Presidential race.
2012 is for the Republicans to lose. Obama can’t win. Let’s be honest here, he’s done a horrible job, and the only thing keeping most Democrats from not calling for his head on a silver platter is the thought that maybe, just maybe things would be even worse if McCain had won in 2008. Even the most ardent Koolaid drinkers amongst his supporters can see at this point that Obama has nothing to be proud of, as far as accomplishments go. So Obama can’t win, but the Republicans can and very likely will lose.
Watch for the V.P. choice. That will be the first signal: Are the Republicans out to win, or is Romney just another partisan crank adhering to GOP dogma, isolated from the real world and playing entirely to a handful of billionaires? The V.P. choice will be the first indication of what kind of man he is. I’m guessing that Romney isn’t man enough, that he hasn’t a clue as to what the real world is like, the one the rest of us 299,000,000 Americans live in. He sees himself as a “Moderate” amongst the other hyper rich people he hangs around with, and that means he’s a moderate. In his mind.
I don’t think Romney can overcome his extremely limited view of America.
again, watch the V.P. choice. Will it be a liberal to moderate Republican, balancing his conservatism and appealing to disgruntled Democrats, or can Romney see no further than the world of Country Clubs and mansions?
