In fact, not to bring my ex up too often today (but we’ve been talking all day and it reminded me of this), but we used to eat Chick-Fil-A for lunch all the time. His Bible Study used to go there, exclusively, and they named it “Christian Chicken”.
Ironic how the same people who complain about Chik-Fil-A’s Sunday closings are the same people who rant and rave about “businesses exploit their workers and make them work too much!”
The bible says to keep the seventh day holy (7th day), and Sunday is the first day. Chic-fil-a isn’t Christian, it’s anti bible.
Saturday is the seventh day.
Other than 7th Day Adventists, I am not aware of any denominations that exclusively have Saturday services. Most Roman Catholic churches have Saturday afternoon mass in addition to Sunday morning mass, but, again, most Christians will celebrate the Sabbath day on Sunday.
Chic-Fil-A makes some great chicken. I’m not going to deny that. But it is possible to make some great chicken as still hold some scary-crazy political ideas. It just is. And they do. As a company they have been sued in the past for doing some pretty hateful things, and that will likely occur in the future.
Like all sane people, I favor abolishing corporations from taking any roll in politics. We all have rights. We all have the same rights. We all face the exact same restrictions in campaign financing/donations. There is no reason to grant the owners of Chic-Fil-A additional rights over & above that. They should NOT be granted additional privileges — privileges you and I don’t have — because they own a corporation.
P.S. And, It doesn’t really matter if most or even all the people once thought that the Earth is flat. It’s not flat. And it doesn’t really matter if most Christians set aside the first day of the week as a holy day, the bible still identifies the seventh day — Saturday — as the sabbath.
