what do you think of the Olympic committee refusing to have a moment of silence for the Munich Massacre?
Although I agree that the Olympics should not be politicized, that is exactly what they have done.
Erase all politics and what are we left with: The 40th anniversary of the murder of some Olympic athletes. If you ask me, that is something totally appropriate for the Olympic committee to commemorate.
We have to inject politics — the Arab/Israeli conflict — in order for anyone to invent offense. Without injecting politics first, no sane person could ever imagine an objection: It’s the Olympics honoring dead Olympians.
So, yes, I am disgusted by the Olympic committee and even more disgusted with those who objected to a moment of silence. They are the ones politicizing the Olympics, and they have set a precedent which will not be forgotten.
