A&G 8-2-12 H2 8 mins in More Guns Less Crime
Actually, the so-called “Source” for this is amazon.com, and amazon.com says no such thing. The poster appears to be taking the claim from a USER review. No, not Amazon and not even the book, but some random person who logged on and reviewed the book,
The book itself is highly problematic. It concludes that more guns equal less crime, even though the states with the strictest gun laws have fewer gun deaths. The problem seem to be in the author’s comparisons of gun-happy jurisdictions with differing concealed-carry laws. If that’s not clear to you: Guns are a given in both. So where the author claims that guns make you safer, the reality is that a lack of guns make you safer (as we know from the states with strict laws), but if you live somewhere that’s littered with guns, you’re better off carrying (because everyone else is).
Ironically, your safest option is to move to a state with strict gun laws. You’re actually far less likely to get shot.
