The Sun's not yellow it's chicken

JTEM whining about this & that, plus the secrets of the universe and the occasional chicken recipe.

There’s no excuses for this.  none.
You won’t pay for Medicare.  You wouldn’t pay for the goddamn wars, not even after 9/11, not even when America was unified and patriotism was at it’s height.  You conservatives viewed the lives of our service men as an acceptable loss, but paying the same tax rates that we saw under Bill Clinton (and our economic boom) was “Too much of a sacrifice.”
This isn’t a joke, this is not an exaggeration:  Conservatives, Republicans viewed the lives of thousands of our troops as an acceptable loss, but paying for the wars was too much to ask.
Nothing has changed.  The wars still haven’t been paid for, the tax give-aways have only ever gotten bigger and conservatives keep demanding for more & more tax cuts.  This is true even though we’re in our 12th year of tax cuts, and they have failed miserably at stimulating the economy.  In fact, there’s a excellent argument that the inflationary impact of all this “Free Money” that conservatives keep handing to millionaires has hurt our economy, and has certainly hurt middle America.
Anyhow, conservatives won’t pay for Medicare.  Period.  They don’t even like it.  If conservatives got their way there wouldn’t be a Medicare.  If conservatives get there way Medicare will vanish. It’ll be gone.
Medicare Advantage Plans are private plans.  They are FOR PROFIT plans.  They were supposed to be “More Efficient” at providing services, saving money, but in reality they are quite a bit more expensive than straight Medicare. This comes as a surprise to absolutely nobody, as “Privatization” is nothing short of looting.  You can’t save money by paying for cost plus profit instead of only cost.  Republicans know this, but there’s millionaires they have to answer to, the millionaires who control the private (and overly expensive) Medicare Advantage Plans.  Thus, Republicans are shedding their crocodile tears over the imaginary gutting of Medicare, all to protect the theft of Treasury dollars by millionaires.
It’s shameful.
