JTEM THIS IS YOUR READING ASSIGNMENT.
Are you honestly THAT dumb? You’re really fooled by that website?
Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence and coined the term “Wall of separation between church and state,” yet that pathetic, intentionally dishonest excuse for a website claims that Jefferson and his Declaration of Independence support the lie that there is no separation!.
Madison, some years later, wrote of the “total separation of church and state” and how much good it has done. This was not an isolated letter. He also happened to be the author of the U.S. constitution so he was an authority on the matter. Yet your dishonest, lying website there pretends he was a denier of the separation.
Let’s make this simple: You tell us which quote you think are actually talking about the constitution and the first amendment, and why.
Fact is, you haven’t a leg to stand on. Jefferson and Madison both left personal writings where they talked about the separation (as fact, and that it results from the first amendment), and the record from the debate on the first amendment showed that even opponents believed that it created such a “Wall of separation.” In fact, they argued that it would be interpreted too strongly, banning churches from using government institutions like the courts.
How is it conservatives and pretend to believe in a God even as they feel it necessary to lie? Most real Christians believe it is Satan who thrives on lies, not God. Clearly the author of that website — and most of the so called “Conservatives” — are sending their prayers in the wrong direction… to a supernatural being that needs lies.
