There appears to be two Obamas. One continues the wars, continues the drone strikes, continuing the fight on al Qaeda. And then there is the Obama that supported the Islamic “Spring” which put the Muslim Brotherhood in power in Egypt and a likely similar future for Libya. The result of this has been the worst possible outcome in both situations. Massive amounts of civilian death because of his drone strikes,
There hasn’t been massive amounts of civilian deaths, even though the deaths of civilians are planned by the terrorists.
Terrorists locate their assets in residential areas, or “Sensitive” locations like a Mosque. They do it so if a strike takes out those assets they gain some propaganda, as you are demonstrating in the above.
“Oh, look! Those terrible Americans! They have no regard for life! Look how they killed all these innocents (or blew up that Mosque)…”
I saw footage of U.S. soldiers pinned down in Iraq, for example, as a sniper fired at them from a hospital. The point was that firing back at him endangered the staff and patients. Someone like you, a person who enjoys spreading terrorist propaganda, would no doubt denounce the troops for firing on a hospital, just as you denounce firing on terrorists and their assets because the terrorists hide amongst civilians…
Secondly, do you honestly think that a President Romney wouldn’t use drones? Drones are here to stay. The Genie is not going back inside the bottle. Drone use is up under Obama over Bush, just as it was up under Bush over Clinton. The technology is getting better, the systems are getting more accurate, flexible, and they never have to worry about losing any of our service men on a mission.
We’re going to see more drone use in the future, not less, and we’re going to see it regardless of who wins in 2012, or who wins in 2016… 2020… etc.
