The patriotism… the compassion… the raw respect for service to one’s nation… Puts a lump in your throat, don’t it? Addendum:  If anyone didn’t know, a “Purple Heart” is the medal awarded by the U.S. military to men (people, in this day & age) killed or wounded in battle.
