If you’re not American and/or managed to escape tonight’s Presidential debates: Congratulations. I envy you.
If you’re wondering, Romney did much better than expected — he wins the “expectations game” — but Obama managed to differentiate himself.
See, one of Obama’s biggest problems is his own base. After four years of doing his imitation of George Bush, it was difficult (if not impossible) to see him as any different than a Republican. Tonight Obama managed to at least sound like a Democrat, though not a very enthusiastic one.
His half-hearted (one eighth-hearted) attack of more tax cuts and defense of expiring the Bush cuts is a prime example. It made him stand apart from Romney & Ryan, but his arguments were poor and they left me to wonder why is he only now thinking these things, after doing exactly the opposite for four years? I simply don’t want to vote for Obama.
In the end, I can’t vote for Romney though. I just can’t. He says all the wrong things for all the wrong reasons. So I guess it’s Ron Paul then…

No not Ron Paul. Ron Paul suggested we return to gold. His policies could reflect a transition to that. That would be...
