Not caring may be bad, but what you’re seeing is far worse:  Political opportunism. 

The Republicans made an issue out of Libya because they believed they could benefit from it.  You see death and destruction, they see a wonderful opportunity to be harvested like ripe fruit.

    …well, okay, I guess you’re not so different from them.
