If the fetus is a human being, it may still be okay to get an abortion. The question is whether or not the fetus has any of the characteristics that makes a human being valuable, like sentience or any perception whatsoever. In my opinion, it doesn’t.

Not really.  From a “Libertarian” point of view, even if the fetus were as conscious and capable as an adult it would still be acceptable to abort.

See, nobody has a “Right” to your body.  No, not even your children.  Nobody has a “Right” to the use of your body.  Nobody has a “Right” to any part of your body.  If I’ll die without one of your kidneys and you don’t want to give one up, I die.

The same is true for blood. If you’re the only available donor and you refuse, my time is up.

Believe it or not, this is true for parents as well.  No parent has to donate a kidney to a dying child.  No parent is even required to donate blood.  This is because their children don’t have a “Right” to their body.

Sounds a bit harsh, don’t it? But it’s true.  Nobody has a right to your body.

I’ve heard it said once that abortion will always be with us, but that it’s definition will change.  That, someday medical science will be able to “Evict” an unwanted fetus from a body without harm to either it or the woman.  Of course, that’s going to present far more problems than it solves….

How?

Well, today if you’re the father of an unwanted child you’re still legally responsible.  You’re financially responsible.  Wouldn’t the “Transfer” of a fetus place the women in the exact same position that the men are currently in?
