…Okay, fair point. I watched a documentary about some Jesus Camp for children and it was dreadful. 

But modern liberals tend to have more of an international impact. The fundamental principles (‘don’t let the government control your life’ probably being the best one) are fine, but the new ‘tolerate everything’ mantra drives me up the wall. 

I know what you mean, and it’s definitely an issue with “Leftist,” but I still wouldn’t say “Liberal.”

And I have to agree.  With you, that is.  Many idiots on the left can’t see the difference between tolerating differences and surrendering yourself to the will of others.

     …just as many on the right can’t.

It’s symptomatic of an extreme position, regardless of which extreme.
